In catcher in the rye, is holden really the one who wrote "**** you" on the wall?

i read it a few times and kinda started thinking it! he rubbed it out and got scared "someone might think it was him" did he just blank it out of his memory? and did the same thing happen with the teacher? did he sexually abuse holden but he blanked that from his memory too?
