What is the significance of a white dove in a cemetery?

My Father died a week ago and when my husband and I together with my brother and his wife went to the cemetery where his ashes are to be interred a single white dove landed very close to us. It stayed around for quite a few moments and seemed very tame. There was no Dove Cote in the vicinity. Am I looking for answers that are not there or does anyone think that this was a sign?
