Lost a "HUGE" spider in my room, help?

So i was randomly taking bananas from a bowl when i noticed a spider the size of a compact camera on my hand, naturally, i freaked the f out and threw it in the corner and went looking for sth to grab it with, now i've come back and it's nowhere to be seen, any tips on how to lure spiders or if they can be dangerous when coming from a banana farm? the bananas are from Cote d'Ivoire.
